Regulatory Blind Spots and the Explosion at AES
On October 10, 2025, building 602 at Accurate Energetic Systems (AES) in Hickman, Tennessee, exploded with over 24,000 pounds of explosives inside. The explosion resulted in the deaths of 16 employees, demolished the building, and was heard from miles away.
